mission statement
Crossway is a community where you can be loved by God, love God, and love one another.
John 3:16-17, Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29-31
Why the olive tree symbol?
But I am like a green olive tree
in the house of God.
I trust in the steadfast love of God
forever and ever.
Psalms 52:8
The olive tree is one of the most vivid and enduring metaphors in Scripture. All throughout the Bible it was used to convey deep meanings about God, about us, and how our relationship should be. I hope to always be like a green olive tree in the House of God.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
God the Father
We believe in God the Father. He is perfect in power, wisdom, holiness, and love. We believe He cares for all of His creation, and especially for those formed in His image. We believe that He saves us from sin and death through faith and belief in Christ Jesus alone. (John 3:16-17).
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and His teachings. We believe He is the Messiah of Israel which was prophesied in the Holy Bible, the eternal King, and the Savior of the whole earth. We believe in his sacrifice for all people of every nation upon the cross, paying the price for our sin and death. We believe in His resurrection from the dead on the third day. We believe he ascended to heaven and will physically return. (Acts 2:14-41)
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came from the Father and the Son to testify of who Jesus is, to empower His people, and equip them for every good work. We believe in the Gifts of the Spirit are alive and active today. we believe Holy Spirit is making intercession on our behalf without ceasing. (Acts 1:7-8)
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe that God has called us to be a community rooted in love through the New Covenant of Jesus. We believe that Jesus is the head of the church (His body). We believe that we are called to be the Light and Salt of the earth in His name through the unity by loving our neighbors as ourselves. (Ephesians 1:22-23)
