The sermon removes spiritual gifts from the realm of elite performance and places them in ordinary availability to God. Based on 1 Corinthians 14:1-3, prophecy is primarily presented as receiving God's heart and using it to build up, encourage, and console rather than to accuse or expose. Scripture forms the essential foundation because believers must first know God's word and character. Romans 8 then shows that the Holy Spirit intercedes in human weakness according to God's will. Believers join his intercession by standing in the gap for other people, leaders, workplaces, and nations, allowing prayer to shape what they perceive and speak. Faith is confidence in unseen realities and courage to live now as citizens of God's restoring kingdom. The Spirit who lives within every believer brings all three gifts together. Yet 1 Corinthians 13 supplies the decisive test: without patient, truthful, self-giving love, even remarkable spiritual power gains nothing. God is not asking for super-spiritual performers, but available people whose gifts carry his love.
