International Justice Mission (IJM) is an international, nonprofit organization focused on human rights, laws and law enforcement. It is currently the world’s largest anti-slavery organization. IJM cites Isaiah 1:17 as one of their core commitments.
Please pray for:
* IJM to continue in their ministries throughout the world, leaving imprints of the just God we serve.
* Deliverance for all those who are enslaved and trafficked, with restoration and healing.
* Provisions necessary to continue the good work that IJM is doing in the communities they are in.
Less than six years into his reign, Kim Jong Un has tested more missiles than his father and grandfather combined. In a major show of defiance to the international community, North Korea fired a ballistic missile over the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido Friday. The launch is the second to fly over Japan in less than a month, and the first since North Korea’s sixth nuclear test and new United Nations sanctions on the country. Prior to its most recent launch, the country has fired 21 missiles during 14 tests since February, further perfecting its technology with each launch. [CNN]
* that tensions will decrease before irreversible decisions are made, both by NK and the international community.
* that this oppressive regime will finally come to an end.
Right now, sustained torrential rain is causing devastation in both developed and developing countries. Hurricane Harvey has displaced tens of thousands of people in Houston and tragically killed 15. Several weeks ago, hundreds of homes and businesses were buried under a mudslide affecting communities around Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown; and following much heavier than usual monsoon rains, Bangladesh, India and Nepal have been affected by the worst floods in decades impacting on almost 41 million people and killing thousands. The situation is expected to worsen as monsoon season continues through the end of September.
* for People in the Flooded Areas:
Protection of all life / Safe transportation to safe areas / Comfortable lodging, safe drinking water, and nutritious food / Quick reunion for any separated families / Long-term housing for those who have lost homes / Ability to communicate with extended family and friends.
* for Rescue Efforts by First Responders / Emergency Personnel:
Safety for police officers, firemen, and emergency medical personnel / Strength, stamina and wisdom as they respond to the overwhelming need.
* for Ongoing Relief Efforts
Join on on Saturday Sept 23 at 6pm for a very special CMC Night of Prayer.
We will be visiting and praying for the Evergreen Education Center, which provides counseling, education, vocational training, and life skills for children and teens who have been rescued out of sex trafficking in South Korea. This is a special project and partnership CMC shares with Hope Be Restored, Saenal, and other partners who share our vision to see a Korea without slaves.
Please set aside this day and time to pray into this special place. Mark your calendars and see you there!

Eight days after receiving a 15-year prison sentence and nearly a year after he was first detained, Muslim convert to Christianity Amin Afshar Naderi wrote an open letter to Iranian authorities. "What have I done against you and our country that made you hate me this much? I have learned from the Bible to love my enemies and to pray for those who hate me," his letter began. Amin was sentenced for "acting against national security by organizing and conducting house churches" and an additional five years for blasphemy.
* that Amin will be released from prison soon
* that those responsible for the persecution of Christians in Iran will love mercy, act justly, learn about Jesus and choose to follow Him.
