Crisis in Syria
“As we enter the eighth year of this ruinous war in Syria, it is harrowing to hear of the alleged attacks in Douma. It is utterly heartbreaking to see the constant calls from humanitarian organizations to put an end to the violence, suffering, and devastation of Syrian people, go unnoticed.” Since the Syrian civil war officially began March 15, 2011, families have suffered under brutal conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands of people, torn the nation apart, and set back the standard of living by decades. Today 13.1 million people in the country need humanitarian assistance. Healthcare centers and hospitals, schools, utilities, and water and sanitation systems are damaged or destroyed. Historic landmarks and once-busy marketplaces have been reduced to rubble. War broke the social and business ties that bound neighbors to their community. So millions scattered, creating the largest refugee and displacement crisis of our time. More than 5.6 million Syrians have fled the country as refugees, and 6.1 million are displaced within Syria — as internally displaced people (IDPs). Half of the people affected by the terrible results are children.[World Vision International]
-the hearts of leaders to be changed to bring about peace in Syria
-mercy so that attacks on civilians cease and humanitarian aid can reach those in need
-protection, education and hope for the children of Syria to not become a lost generation

Tausug in Philippines
The name “Tausug” means “people of the sea current,” and most Tausug reside on the island of Jojo. While Islam is the main religion, it is mixed with pre-Islamic religious beliefs and rituals, such as beliefs that environmental spirits cause sickness or wealth and that all Tausug eventually reach heaven after a period of punishment based on misconduct on earth. Historically, the Tausug engaged in armed struggles against the central government during the Marcos regime, which left deep hurts and bitterness.
On February 19th of this year, 100 school girls were kidnapped by the Boko Haram faction from their school in Dapchi, and taken to an unknown location. Recently on March 21st the majority of the girls were released due to already being Muslim. All were released, except one girl, ‘Leah Sharibu’ who has refused to denounce Jesus Christ as her Lord and saviour. The family is still worried for their daughters safety, but they have joy in the fact that their daughter won’t denounce Christ. Nigeria's president has stated that, “She will not be abandoned.”

CBI (Christ Bible Institute) Nagoya, Japan
The vision of the CBI Team (Christ Bible Institute) is to engage Japanese society with the gospel, expand the kingdom of God through church planting, and to equip leaders in the gospel. Though the nation of Japan is one of the greatest mission challenges of the world - only 0.2 percent attend a Protestant church - the country has entered a season of unprecedented spiritual openness as a result of the recent earthquake and tsunami.
Please pray for/that:
• CBI members will commit their time to the Lord. Pray that He will be their source of strength and comfort when they are discouraged and that they will remain confident in their calling.
• Each member will lead a life that demonstrates true dedication to God.
• The Gospel to take root in Japanese culture and no longer be perceived as a western religion.
